Mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI), commonly known as concussion, accounts for approximately 90% of all traumatic brain injuries and affects an estimated 4 million people globally each year. In the United States alone, around 8 million individuals sustain head injuries annually, with 400,000 to 500,000 requiring hospitalization, 80% of whom meet the criteria for mTBI. Despite its prevalence, there is growing evidence that many healthcare providers, especially in primary care, lack sufficient training and awareness of current tools and best practices for managing mTBI. This highlights the critical need for a dedicated TBI seminar to enhance medical professionals' knowledge and improve patient care outcomes. The seminar will enhance the clinical competency of medical professionals in the diagnosis, management, and recovery support of patients with mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) by providing evidence-based strategies, addressing common barriers to recovery, guiding appropriate use of diagnostic tools, and exploring the impact of compensation on clinical and financial outcomes.
