Please Support our Homeless Vets this Holiday Season

If you’ve ever wondered about the newly constructed Salt Lake Veterans Administration building standing among the solar panels, it is the Valor House. In 2011 the VA, in partnership with the Salt Lake City Housing Authority, broke ground on this transitional housing facility for homeless veterans. Today, the Valor House serves 72 veterans on their journey from dependence to independence by providing critical services, including clinical case management, coordinated mental and physical health care, substance abuse treatment support, and life skills development. To many, the Valor House represents so much more than a place to sleep. It’s a new beginning.

This holiday season, DBMI students would like to honor our Valor House veterans. We are asking for donations of brand-new personal care products from current and former DBMI members and friends of the department. The donations will be used to assemble self-care kits at our DBMI holiday party.
