On behalf of the Bachelor of Social Work Student Association (BSWSA), we would like to welcome you to the University of Utah College of Social Work. We are excited to get to know you!

The BSWSA represents the undergraduate student body in the College of Social Work and fosters the development of knowledge and skills needed for effective social work practice.  The BSWSA provides opportunities for students to engage in student leadership, networking opportunities with peers, staff, and faculty, volunteer work, and community outreach with a variety of campus and community-based programs that interact with vulnerable and marginalized populations. The structure of the BSWSA is purposeful in that it assists students in their pursuit of higher education with an emphasis on student development and community engagement from a social work perspective.

 The BSWSA gives you the opportunity to gain real life social work experience. Every year we work hard to put together activities that benefit the students, College, University, and community. The BSWSA is known for planning and contributing to the Officers Hollow event, marching in the Pride Parade, supporting educational presentations with guest speakers, and putting together enjoyable socials so that students can mingle and get to know one another. The BSWSA encourages everyone to run for an office position and participate in this wonderful student organization!

As an incoming student into the BSW Program, we ask that you contribute a one-time, $15 membership fee.

This fee is used to provide materials for social work student social events, student professional development, service projects, and more.
