Under certain circumstances the University of Utah School of Medicine allows clinical rotations, research or observational activities to international students, trainees and faculty from non-LCME (Liaison Committee on Medical Education) and non-AOA (American Osteopathic Association's Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation) institutions. To be eligible applicants must:
- Obtain a letter of invitation for sponsorship from a host Department OR the Assistant Dean of Global Health Education at the University of Utah School of Medicine
- Submit the Department Sponsored Rotation Application to the Global Heath Education unit (email: jennifer.monson@hsc.utah.edu) at least 6-8 weeks prior to the desired arrival time
- Provide record of good academic standing at their home institution (e.g., formal letter from Dean or faculty member)
- Show proof of appropriate professional liability (if needed) & health insurance coverage prior to starting the elective
- Comply with required health policies (e.g., immunizations)
- Obtain a valid visa to enter the United States (if required)
This is a non-refundable processing fee and must be paid prior to coming to the US.
