Instructor Bio

Gordon J. Christensen is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Practical Clinical Courses (PCC), Chief Executive Officer of Clinicians Report Foundation (CR), and a Practicing Prosthodontist in Provo, Utah. Dr. Christensen and Dr. Rella Christensen (his wife) are co-founders of the non-profit Clinicians Report Foundation. Currently, Dr. Rella Christensen is the Director of the TRAC Research Division of the CR Foundation. Since 1976, they have conducted research in all areas of dentistry and published the findings to the profession in the well-known CRA Newsletter. Dr. Christensen’s degrees include a DDS from University of Southern California, a MSD from the University of Washington, a PhD from the University of Denver, and two honorary doctorates. Early in his career, Dr. Christensen helped initiate the University of Kentucky and University of Colorado dental schools and taught at the University of Washington. Currently, he is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Utah, School of Dentistry. Dr. Christensen has presented thousands of hours of continuing education globally, made hundreds of educational videos used throughout the world, and published widely. He is a member of numerous professional organizations.

The 2nd Annual G. Lynn Powell Lecture

The Annual G. Lynn Powell Lecture honors the contributions of Dr. Lynn Powell, former Director of the Regional Dental Education Program (RDEP), former Assistant Dean of the School of Medicine, and Founding Dean of the University of Utah School of Dentistry (UUSOD). Dr. Powell’s superb stewardship of RDEP; his relentless pursuit of both the funding and political support necessary for the establishment of the School; and his visionary leadership through the design and construction of the Ray and Tye Noorda Oral Health Sciences Building deserve enduring recognition. The Annual Lecture will bring to the dental community of Utah and its region a distinguished speaker, representative of the highest standards of oral health care. This offering is reflective of Dr. Powell’s desire to provide quality dental continuing education as a gift to the dental community.
