COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course focuses on state-of-the- art topics in gastroenterology, hepatology, GI imaging, and endoscopic procedures including hands-on demonstrations in endoscopic stent placement, ultrasound, feeding tube placement, Barrett’s ablation and mucosal resection, and, ERCP.  The course targets Gastroenterology practitioners, GI endoscopists, GI fellows, GI mid-level providers and GI surgeons.  There will also be a dedicated session (including hands-on experiences) specifically for GI nurses and technicians.  Difficult clinical problems and the roles of new techniques will be covered using lectures, video, and hands-on demonstrations. The faculty members are nationally recognized experts in the their respective fields in gastroenterology. This course is sponsored by the University of Hawaii and the University of Utah. It includes invited experts in a collegial personal atmosphere that encourages one on one interaction and unique hands-on educational experiences.
