Beyond the Boom: Strategies for the study of contemporary Latin American and Latinx literature

The novel, while fictionalized, is rooted in tangible histories and cultures.  The literary Nobel laureates from Latin America embody a phenomenon among authors from the region that use their work to explore history, highlight injustices and explore cultural phenomenon.  This workshop will engage contemporary authors from Latin America as a means of exploring country and regional specific themes.  Teachers of upper division Spanish, AP Spanish and Spanish Bridge courses will find the content applicable to course offerings.  

PLEASE NOTE: Pre-requisite for this workshop is the ability to read, write and converse in Spanish. 

This workshop is also offered as a hybrid option for those who live out of state or outside driving distance to University of Utah.













Full attendance is MANDATORY. Registration fees are non-refundable, so please do not sign up if you are unsure of your commitment. 

This class will have a hybrid option for teachers outside of the immediate area who wish to participate in this workshop. Please note attendance is still mandatory.
