Oralitura -oraliture- is an intellectual, artistic, and creative proposal from a distinct group of Indigenous writers, anchored in four main pillars: storytelling, based in communitism, intellectually sovereign, and a text of ancestral bonds. This course offers an introduction to contemporary production of oralitura in the Americas aka Abya Yala (a decolonial term from the Kuna language, land in maturity). Most of the texts will be in short story and poetry format. Teacher of English Language Arts, World Languages, World History and other social studies disciplines would see applications to their courses of instruction.
